This Saturday, July 9th, we will be playing TWICE!

11:30 AM -- We'll be playing in a program coordinated by Madison's Classical Revolution at Grace Church, 116 W. Washington Ave.
The theme of the program is Sound Painting: Music and Art, and will include pieces that tie visual art and music.

8:00 PM -- There was a fire on June 30th on Mifflin St. that damaged the Capitol Hills apartment building and also the local foodsmiths
the Underground Kitchen. This benefit concert will feature us and Thomas Wincek of All Tiny Creatures. [EDIT: Thomas                                 unfortunately couldn't play, and instead the stellar Chants performed.] This show is a
THORPS, 1988 Atwood Ave. Come out to support fellow Madisonians!

Jazari uses his demon-horned controller to command an army of percussion-playing robots that he's built. We are really psyched for this show.

He recently gave a presentation on "Cyborg Musicality" at the TEDx Conference.

Our friend Asumaya is also playing, who is always stellar.

FRIDAY, JUNE 24, 7:30pm
PROJECT LODGE, 817 E. Johnson St.

Here's the facebook event.

We are really excited to announce that our album, From Field to Platter, will be available at the end of this week.

For the first month or so, the album will only be available from us directly, either at our shows or through emailing weatherduomusic@gmail.com. So come to our shows!

As a companion to the album, we have download cards that will give you access to several of Anna's videos, as well as 2 bonus tracks, and wallpaper art.

These download cards will be available at the show tonight with Nash Smith and Ganges and bell monks at the Project Lodge. See you there!

The Weather Duo was featured in the May 12th issue of the Isthmus, in a piece written by Rich Albertoni!

In other news, the show at the Project Lodge last night was really amazing! Thanks to everyone who came out and stayed late to see us; you really made our night. Luke Polipnick and Great Architect played really stellar sets.

Lots of news this week, really. We were profiled in the Isthmus that came out today, so if you get a chance, grab a copy. We'll share the online article when it's digitized.

We've made two new videos! Here's us playing our piece North/Into the Country/Falling Asleep to the Feedback:

This piece will be on our forthcoming album, From Field to Platter. (More on that very soon!)
And here's a new piece we're developing called Ishmael's Voicemail (is full):
We have a show this Sunday that we're really excited about. The always happenin' Project Lodge is hosting a night of creative music. Also playing will be the stellar guitarist Luke Polipnick, and a really exciting improv group from North Carolina called Great Architect.
Come hang! Here's the AV Club writeup

This evening, Madison New Music group New Muse held a Vaudevillian Variety show at the local gay bar, Plan B, and we were the openers for the night. We played a 15 minute improvised freakout, which is different from what we've been performing lately, but was a nice change of pace.

For something completely different, we're playing tomorrow, May Day, at the Crossroads Coffeeshop in Cross Plains, WI. It's an afternoon show, starting at 2pm. Playing with the duo of guitarist Chris Bocast and keyboardist Emily Blessing, who will be doing a set of Debussy.

Here's a new piece we recorded this week, made for an aerial dance piece choreographed by Hildy Feen.

The piece is titled 'The Horizon Thief.'

Last Monday, we had the surprise opportunity of hosting the string metal band Judgement Day in our living room. The concert was a blast, and afterwards, we had an extended improvisation with Judgement Day and our friends the Brothers Grimm. Serendipitously, a recording engineer from Blast House, Dustin Sisson, was at the show, and he retrieved his mobile rig and captured it all.

Judgement Day have just released the album, appropriately titled Madison Jam, on their blog. You can download the album there for free.

We wrapped up all the recording for our album tonight! Just a few final touches left to do...

We've just begun three new projects:

We're doing music for an aerial dance performance that's being presented by Cycropia on April 23rd.

We're working on scoring a film that's currently being produced by filmmaker William J. Meyer.

And we'll be contributing at least one new original piece to a film project by writer/composer/filmmaker Peter J. Mackie.

We're extremely excited about all of these projects, and we'll of course post updates as they arise!
